Hello, my name is Kathrin and I am German online tutor.
I am an experienced German teacher and have had the opportunity to work in both public and private school settings.
After graduating from teacher training college, I began working as a teacher in a public primary school.
I loved my work but I knew that I wanted to open my own language training school.

In order to give more personalized attention to my students, I generally teach one-on-one or very small groups.
In this way the students get more attention and get more time to speak German with me.
I try to be as flexible as possible to meet the needs of my students.
During the lessons we can discuss any topics which the student finds interesting or required for his or her job, presentation or business.
I teach most of my lessons using Skype so the students need to have access to a good internet connection and the ability to use Skype or other similar programs.
In this way the students get more attention and get more time to speak German with me.

I am a mother of 4 kids.

The conversation lessons can take place via Skype, FaceTime, Hangout, Zoom..., depending on the preference of the student.
We also have a shared online document where I put any necessary information before the lesson and make notes in during the lesson. My lessons are generally conversation based and work on improving fluency.
The online document will help to review the new material and memorise new useful phrases which were used during our conversation lesson.
Although I am fluent in several languages, during the lesson, I try speak only German with the student in order to train their brain to think in German.

How do I learn German with Kathrin?
It is easy. All you need is a laptop, internet and a headset. We use Zoom nowdays to have our online lessons. Once you register you will get the link for our online German class.

When can I have my lessons?
We try to be flexible. Depending on our availability we can have the lessons in the morning, afternoon or evening. Whatever is the best for you.
Can I cancel or reschedule my lessons?
Yes, you can. All you need to to do is to write an email.
How do you teach conversational German?
The main focus is on developing speaking skills. We can discuss different topics, it can be your job, your family, interests, whatever you want. The main goal is to make you speak fluent in German.
What level of German should I have in order to have the conversation lessons with you?
Since the lessons are in German only, you should be comfortable with following at least a simple conversation.
I strongly advise you should have at least A1 level to have effective lessons with me.
